OCM’s Vision Focuses on:

The Oromo Community of Minnesota's (OCM) vision is centered around creating an inclusive and thriving community where all individuals have access to opportunities and resources that support their well-being, success, and empowerment. OCM envisions a future where:

  • Equal Access for All: Every person, regardless of background, has equal access to social services, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, contributing to a fair and just society.
  • Community Harmony and Unity: People of diverse backgrounds, particularly Oromo and East African immigrants, live together in harmony, fostering mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration.
  • Cultural Pride and Preservation: The Oromo community remains strong in its cultural identity, preserving traditions while also integrating into the broader society, ensuring future generations maintain a strong sense of belonging and pride in their heritage.
  • A Vibrant and Self-Sufficient Community: Through ongoing support, education, and resource-sharing, OCM aims to build a self-sufficient and empowered community that thrives socially, economically, and culturally.
